- Check travel restrictions for your destination before you plan and before you travel.
There are currently some types of entry restrictions to nearly every destination and they can change at any time. Please stay up to date on the protocols for your particular destination before you travel.
- Trip insurance is highly recommended!

- Always download your airline app onto your mobile device.
You will need to register and then go to my trips and put in your record locator. This will allow you to receive updates on your flight, schedule changes, gate changes, luggage information, etc.
- Always check in for your flight 24 hours prior to departure to your destination and your return.
You can do this on your mobile app, computer or call.
- Check with your airline for carry on item specifics.
For most airlines/fares you are allowed a carry-on to go in the overhead compartment which can be a rollaboard or similar. These sizes can vary and they may measure your bag to see if you are in compliance. A personal item is also allowed which can be a purse, backpack, briefcase, etc. This will go under the seat in front of you.
- Don’t forget a mask.
These are required to fly and also required in airports. Any mask with an exhaust valve or vent is not approved as an acceptable face mask on most airlines. Mask must fit snugly over nose and mouth.
- Take your own snacks and drinks.
Airlines are handing out limited, if any, snacks and drinks at present. Take an empty water bottle to fill after your security check or buy after TSA check. Keep in mind nothing over 3.4 oz can go through security. This means liquids, gels, etc.
- Take a picture of where you parked your car.
At the airport, take a picture of your parking area before you leave your car.
- On arrival to the airport, proceed to the kiosk for your airline.
Follow instructions on the screen. If you are checking bags you can pay here and also have your luggage tags printed out. You can also print out your boarding passes. This process will include everyone booked on your same record locator or persons traveling with you. If you prefer to use your airline phone app for your boarding pass you can do that also.
- If you are flying internationally, go to your airlines' customer service desk.
If you are flying internationally, there is a chance that you will need to go to your airlines customer service desk to show documentation. This could be health forms, covid test results, authorizations, or passports. You may not be able to use the kiosk.
- Checking a bag? Attach tags and take them to your airlines bag check line.
If you are checking a bag take these with tags attached to your airlines bag check line.
- Remove items from your pockets before security.
Remove items from your pockets before security check and put them in your carry on. The least amount of contact with the bins and your personal items the better. Wash hands or sanitize after passing through security.
- Be ready to board your flight.
Flights will usually begin the boarding process 30-40 min prior to departure depending on the size of the aircraft.
- Some longer flights will have in flight entertainment.
They may have screens on the headrest in front of you and can supply you with ear buds if you do not bring your own. If there are no screens, there may be an app to install on your mobile device, iPad, etc. that will allow you to watch different movies, tv shows, or listen to music.
